FAQs
What is the difference between a Nutritionist and a Health Coach?
Nutritionists and Health Coaches both have the same end goal: help people get healthier by improving their diet. So it’s natural that people confuse the two. The major difference is in the process…
Nutritionists and dieticians tend to focus soley on the science of diet. They tend to prescribe a very restrictive way of eating. Concepts like “calories in= calories out”, or “carbs make you fat” or “fat makes you fat”, these are over-simplfified statements that come from researchers strictly looking at data from one angle.
The thing is, nutrition is the one area of science where two studies and prove opposite ideas. There isn’t ONE way that ALL people should eat. This is where Health Coaches come in…
Health Coaches incorporate a variety of dietary theories into their practice and help clients figure out what works best for their unique body. We look at a whole person, consider their whole life, and rather than simply changing their diet, a health coach will help them change their relationship with food.
Working with a health coach is about adding more into your life rather than taking anything away.
I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline. Instead of just changing your diet, I will change the way you interact with food on a fundamental level.
If you feel like food has too much control of your life, you’re always thinking about what to eat, feel restricted or are confused about fat, calories and carbs contact me for a consultation.
